Multifuel Stove Installation Suffolk

A multi-fuel stove adds style and warmth to your Suffolk home. Our HETAS-registered expert installers ensure a completely safe installation, with Gas Safe Engineers and ICEIC Electricians handing gas and electric appliances. By using approved installers, you avoid the need to inform building control; and we’ll notify all relevant authorities on your behalf, including your local fire station.

We recommend only top-quality multi-fuel stoves but remain independent and impartial, providing information to help you choose from our catalogue or providing advice so you can supply your own compliant stove. Multi-fuel stoves, similar in output and efficiency to wood-burning stoves, offer flexibility in fuel choice, allowing you to burn coal or firewood and switch fuels based on affordability and availability.

Chimney Remodelling Suffolk

We offer a full fireplace remodelling service to homeowners in Suffolk. We can handle everything from safety upgrades to complete aesthetic overhauls, using top quality materials like riven slate hearths and A1 rated fire boards. At Incendium Stoves and Fireplaces, we can also create bespoke designs, including brick pillars and oak beams. All work is completed in-house by our expert team of fireplace installers and engineers, to ensure high standards.

Our Suffolk fireplace remodelling service will include opening up the fireplace, right back to the original builders’ opening, which typically gets reduced in size over the years. We then supply and fit a hearth as standard, and you can supply your own material or we can provide appropriate hearth materials to install. For inside the chamber, we fit A1 rated glasroc fire board, which is smooth to the touch and leaves a clean and modern finish. We are also able to acid clean and repoint the original brickwork inside the chamber. The final stage of the remodelling process is to patch in the plaster around the opening of the existing wall. If having in-house expert HETAS installers, brick layers, and tilers weren’t enough – we also employ experienced plasterers so everything is finished to the highest standards.

Chimney Lining & Flues Suffolk

Incendium Stove and Fireplaces team of expert installers fit stoves and flexible flue liners in existing fireplaces on a day to day basis. We provide everything we need for the work in-house, including all the materials and people needed, so you don’t have to go through the stress of contacting different people.

We use ladders for 98% of our flues installations in Suffolk, which saves you the financial burden of unsightly scaffolding or a cherry picker to gain access to your chimney during the work. We provide full pre-installation surveys and post-installation sweeps, and once your flue and carbon monoxide alarms have been tested, we will run through the installation with you and provide a detailed guide on how to use your new appliance.

Twinwall flues are used where there are no existing chimneys to line. These installations can look incredibly modern, and are becoming more popular as most new build properties no longer include a traditional fireplace and chimney. A twinwall flue installation is very versatile, as they mean that a wood burning stove or multi fuel fireplace can now be installed almost anywhere in your home.

False Chimney Breasts Suffolk

Adding a false chimney breast to your property in Suffolk can help to add a focal point to your home. If your property has limited access to flues, a false chimney breast can be used to disguise a flue from entering the wall or the ceiling. In properties which do not already have a fireplace, a false chimney breast can enable you to have a fireplace installed in almost any room (providing there’s adequate ventilation points).

It is becoming quite popular to have a false chimney breast installed for use with electric fires and a complimenting area for TV and storage. The process itself involves creating a metal frame for support, and then your chosen fire or free-standing stove is then installed into the frame, and this is then plastered and filled to create a lovely smooth finish, so you can decorate how you like.

Fireplace Inspection, Insurance and Aftercare Suffolk

At Incendium Stoves and Fireplaces, we can provide full fireplace inspection and insurance reports for homeowners in Suffolk. This can provide reassurance to those who have had recent installs completed by “rogue” traders. We carry out a complete visual review and assessment of the fireplace and chimney, as well as taking advantage of the latest CCTV methods to take a look inside.

Our full aftercare service doesn’t end with the installation – we will talk you through how to use and care for your fireplace or wood burner, and send over a full guide which covers everything so you have something to refer to later on.

We recommend a sweep every 6 months with heavy use and every year with standard use, to keep your appliance in full working order. We can provide a sweep and service reminder service, which means we’ll get in touch with you when the time comes, do you don’t have to worry about remembering dates.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We make every effort possible to avoid using scaffolding, cherry pickers or other invasive equipment to fit your chimney liners. We use ladders for 98% of our flue installations and chimney liner fittings, which can save you money in the process.

To calculate what size wood burner you need, we recommend you measure your room and divide by 14. (Length x Width x Height in metres / 14). You could also divide by 10 if your room is particularly poorly insulated, or 25 if your room is within a new build and/or correctly insulated.

We recommend cleaning your fireplace or wood burner regularly, in order to keep it in good working condition. Keeping it well maintained will make it more efficient and cost-effective. You can start by cleaning the surface with a damp cloth and soft-bristle brush, before paying attention to the glass door. Once the interior is clean, check the ash pan, seals & flue. We have written an article with more detailed information on How To Clean Your Wood Burning Stove.
